Surprise Engagement!

This weekend was very eventful for our family!  My younger sister and her boyfriend got engaged on the beach in Galveston on Friday.  My whole family was there except for me and Brian.  It was disappointing to not be able to make it, but instead, I was able to host a surprise engagement party for them on Saturday.  My little sister was completely surprised at the engagement and her gorgeous ring!

My soon to be brother in law had her ring specially modeled after a classy, vintage ring that his family jeweler had in stock but promised to another buyer.  He was able to pick the center diamond and the result was stunning.

On their way back to town, I texted Hayley and told her to stop by and show me the ring where we had 20 + people waiting to surprise her. I made some homemade cookie favors that took forever, but they were pretty cute!

I also made some tasty apetizers including sausage stars, pigs in a blanket, pepperoni puffs, cucumber bites, spinach artichoke dip, and chocolate covered strawberries for the special day.

My absolute favorite thing that I made was this ring cake.  It was just a 9 inch square pan that I cut the top off to make a diamond and surrounded it with cupcakes for the band.  Here is a view from above

The happy couple seemed to enjoy the party and visiting with their friends.  Hayley only had to tell the engagement story about five times as more people joined the party.  I don’t think she minded too much!

We are pretty excited for these two as they embark on this lifelong journey together!
